Holly Jackson, Melinda Salisbury, Catherine Doyle & Katherine Webber shortlisted for YA Book Prize 2023

The 2023 YA Book Prize shortlisted has been unveiled and featured are novels by Holly Jackson, Melinda Salisbury, Catherine Doyle and Katherine Webber. Holly Jackson is shortlisted for Five Survive (Electric Monkey), a cat-and-mouse thriller sees a group of teenagers on a road trip which takes a sinister turn when they break down in the middle of nowhere and realise that a sniper is outside targeting them; Melinda Salisbury for Her Dark Wings (David Fickling Books), a modern-day reimagining of the Persephone myth, which sees two friends go on a dangerous journey into the Underworld; and Catherine Doyle and Katherine Webber for Twin Crowns (Electric Monkey), which tells the story of twin princesses who are separated at birth and live in entirely different worlds until one must complete a mission to steal her sister’s place in the palace.

The YA Book Prize launched in 2014 to celebrate great books for teenagers and young adults and aims to get more teens reading and buying books. It is the first prize in the UK and Ireland to specifically focus on fiction for young adults.
