Sophie Hannah awarded The CWA Award for Dagger in the Library 2023
Sophie Hannah has received the received the Dagger in the Library award for her new stories featuring the moustachioed detective created by Agatha Christie. Sophie Hannah, who wrote Poirot novels The Monogram Murders and Closed Casket with the blessing of Agatha Christie’s family and estate, received the Dagger in the Library award after a vote by librarians.
The Dagger in the Library is a prize for a body of work by an established writer of crime fiction or non-fiction who has long been popular with borrowers from libraries. It also rewards authors who have supported libraries and their users through taking part in library events. The Dagger in the Library is awarded to an author writing in Britain and nominated by libraries in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
