Rathbones Folio Prize longlist and shortlist revealed for 2022

Colm Tóibín's The Magician (Viking) and Gwendoline Riley's My Phantoms (Granta) have been shortlisted for the Rathbones Folio Prize 2022. The titles are chosen from a longlist nominated by the more than 300 writer members of the Folio Academy, with the shortlist chosen by a panel of judges headed by novelist Tessa Hadley. The longlist features Stephanie Sy-Quia's Amnion (Granta), Luke Kennard's Notes on the Sonnets (Penned in the Margins) and Claire Louise Bennet's Checkout 19 (Jonathan Cape), among seventeen others.

The Rathbones Folio Prize is open to fiction, non-fiction and poetry written in English from around the world. The winner will be announced on 23 March, in a ceremony at the British Library.
