Literary Agent
Matthew joined RCW Literary Agency in 2016 after two years working at Conville & Walsh, part of Curtis Brown. He is actively building a list of literary fiction and non-fiction writers and also assists Natasha Fairweather. Matthew represents novelists, journalists and academics as well as a handful of poets. His authors have either won or been nominated for prizes including the Booker, Goldsmiths, Rathbones Folio, Rooney Prize for Irish Literature, Women’s Prize for Fiction and Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year. He also represents several of The Cheney Agency’s authors in the UK, including James McAuley, Shane McCrae, Tahir Hamut Izgil and Shaun Walker.
Some of his favourite authors are Janet Malcolm, Denis Johnson, James Baldwin, Deborah Levy, Patrick Radden Keefe and Gwendoline Riley. He's currently reading Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont by Elizabeth Taylor and The Gates of Europe: A History of Ukraine by Serhii Plokhy.
