Sarah Thomas is a freelance creative nonfiction writer and documentary filmmaker who has lived in Kenya and Iceland and is now based in Scotland. She has been a regular contributor to Dark Mountain, and was featured in the anthology Women On Nature. She holds a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Glasgow. Her ecological memoir The Raven’s Nest is forthcoming from Atlantic Books in 2022 and is her debut. In 2020 she was nominated for the Arts Foundation Environmental Writing Award. The Raven's Nest was longlisted for the inaugural Nan Shepherd Prize, and shortlisted for the 2021 Fitzcarraldo Essay Prize.
