David Horspool

David Horspool read Ancient and Modern History at Oxford. He is an editor, with a prime responsibility for history, on The Times Literary Supplement. He is the author of Why Alfred Burned the Cakes: A king and his eleven-hundred-year afterlife and The English Rebel. He writes regularly for the TLS, the Sunday Times and the Daily Telegraph, and has also contributed to the Guardian, Observer, Sunday Telegraph and Spectator. He is married with a son and lives in London.
