Jemma Wadham
Jemma Wadham is a Professor of Glaciology and holds a permanent chair at Bristol and an adjunct Professorship at the Arctic University of Norway. She has led over twenty five expeditions to glaciers around the world, including to Greenland, Antarctica, Svalbard, Chilean Patagonia, the Peruvian Andes and the Himalaya. Jemma has won several prestigious national awards for her research, including a Phillip Leverhulme Prize and Royal Society Wolfson Award. She has published over 100 peer reviewed academic papers and has also worked with the Hay Festival and the UK’s Natural Environment Research Council to create accessible stories around glacier change, presenting at the Hay Festival in Arequipa (Peru) and in Hay (UK) in 2019/2020. Her first book, Ice Rivers, will be published by Penguin in 2021.
