Gunnhild Oyehaug

Gunnhild Øyehaug is an award-winning Norwegian poet, essayist, and fiction writer. After publishing poetry, short stories and essays she had her great breakthrough with the novel Wait, Blink which was published in 2008, translated into English by FSG in 2018 and longlisted for the National Book Award. She has also written for film and received awards such as the Dobloug Prize and the Hunger Prize. Her novel Present Tense was longlisted for the National Book Critics Circle Award / Barrios Prize 2022 and that year she won the O'Henry Prize for short fiction for her story Apple which had been published in Freeman’s.  She has also published collections of short stories, including most recently Evil Flowers published in English by FSG in 2023. Øyehaug lives in Bergen, where she teaches creative writing.
