Geovani Martins was born in 1991, in Bangu, Rio de Janeiro. He worked carrying sings, in fast food service, as a waiter for a children’s caterer, and at a beach shack. In 2013 and 2015, he took part in workshops at Flup, Festa Literaria das Periferias (Periphery Literary Party). He published a few short stories and was twice invited to the Flip parallel program. In 2018, Companhia das Letras published his first short story collection, The Sun on My Head, which is being adapted to a series by RT Features.
