Maren Meinhardt was born in Germany, came to London when she was twenty-two and neglected to go home. She was an editor at the Times Literary Supplement for many years, and now works for Carcanet and the Literary Review. Her book on Alexander von Humboldt, A Longing for Wide and Unknown Things, was published in 2018 (‘beguiling and beautifully written’ – New York Review of Books).
She is writing a book on the restoration of the dead by means of poetry, to be published with Bloomsbury in spring 2027.
