Elaine Garvey

Elaine Garvey is from County Sligo, Ireland. Her short stories have been published in The Dublin Review and Winter Papers. She completed an M.Phil in Creative Writing at Trinity College, Dublin in 2000, and began writing her debut novel on a Stinging Fly fiction-writing course with Sean O'Reilly. She continued it under the Word Ireland mentorship programme with Danielle McLaughlin.

Elaine received an Agility Award from the Arts Council of Ireland in 2021 and has recently been selected as a participant on a basic income scheme for artists by the Irish Department of Arts. Her first novel, The Wardrobe Department, is forthcoming with Canongate in 2025.
