Jonas Eika

Jonas Eika is one of Denmark’s youngest and most exciting writers. Their debut novel, Marie House Warehouse, was awarded the Bodil og Jørgen Munch-Christensen Prize for emerging Danish writers in 2016. The short story collection After the Sun received numerous awards, including the prestigious Nordic Council Literary Prize in 2021 and was longlisted for the International Booker Prize in 2022 and translated into fifteen languages. One of the stories ran in the New Yorker and was later awarded an O. Henry Prize. The novel Open Heavens was published by Basilisk in October 2024 to great critical acclaim and was nominated for the Danish Critics’ Prize and the Politiken Literature Prize. It will be published in English by Riverhead in the UK and Granta in the UK. They live in Copenhagen.
