Kathryn Simmonds was born in Hertfordshire and currently lives in north Cornwall. Her first book of poems, Sunday at the Skin Launderette(Seren 2008), won the Forward Prize for best first collection and was long-listed for the Guardian First Book Award. She has written short stories and a comedy-drama for Radio 4, and her second poetry collection, The Visitations, was published by Seren in 2013. Love and Fallout, her debut novel, tells the story of a woman revisiting her past at the Greenham Common women’s peace camp. In 2013/14 Kathryn was the first poet-in-residence at The Charles Causley Trust.
