Storytelling is at the heart of Claire's practice. She likes to explore difficult subjects and bring them to life with humour and colour. CHOP CHOP - The gory story of Henry VIII was selected for the dPICTUS Unpublished Picturebook Showcase 6 and in 2024 was shortlisted for both the Communication Arts Illustration Award and the Adobe Digital Edge Award.
In a previous life Claire worked as a moving image designer for clients including the BBC, CBBC and CBeebies, Nickleodeon and Tate. She was lead designer on the BAFTA award winning kid’s TV show Dick & Dom in da Bungalow. Now Claire is returning to her illustration and storytelling roots to make more permanent works for children.
