Erin Goeres

Dr Erin Goeres is Associate Professor in Scandinavian Studies at UCL and received her doctorate from the University of Oxford in 2010. Her first monograph, Poetics of Commemoration: Skaldic Verse and Social Memory, was published by Oxford University Press in 2015 and a second monograph, Traumas of 1066 in the Literatures of England, Normandy, and Scandinavia will be published by Brepols in 2024. She was awarded a Leverhulme Trust Research Fellowship in 2021 and a UK Arts and Humanities Research Grant in 2015. Erin has appeared on BBC Radio 4’s ‘The Long View’ and ‘In Our Time’ to discuss medieval history and culture. Her first trade book NINETEEN DAYS IN AUTUMN will be published by Viking/Penguin in 2026.
