A collection of French fairy stories comprising ten from "The Fairy Tales of Charles Perrault" and two by Madame Leprince de Beaumont. They include "Cinderella", "Puss in Boots" and "Beauty and the Beast". This book won the first Kurt Maschler Award in 1982 and the Kate Greenaway Medal.
