PJ Harrison
PJ Harrison is an author, artist, and creative whose work blends social commentary, poetry, humour, and philosophical musings, and is heavily influenced by subcultures and sharp observations on class. Harrison’s work explores the complex intersections of culture, human relationships, and contemporary capitalist society.
Harrison’s creative output captures the raw, often unspoken truths of life. Whether exploring the stark beauty of everyday moments or the profound connections between people and their environments, his work resonates with an emotional depth that invites readers to linger, reflect, and discover new layers over time.
His passion for storytelling extends beyond the written word, finding expression in visual art, design, film, and music. Harrison’s autodidactic journey shapes a creative approach that is instinctive and unorthodox, marked by a keen eye for detail and an ear for the rhythm of language. As a synesthesiac his relationship with music, places and colours are particularly prevalent, explaining that he “sees” sound. From his upbringing in the industrial heartland of northern England to years spent touring the U.S. and Europe during his time in music, and living in Los Angeles, Harrison has gained a unique perspective on the contrasts and harmonies that define modern western life.
During his years in California, he wrote, directed, and co-hosted a network TV show about football culture, worked with icons including Nas & Ms Lauryn Hill and co-wrote a top-ten album. These diverse experiences permeate his work, reflecting the intricate blend of influences that shape his art and writing.
PJ Harrison resides in London with his golden retriever, Baby. In his spare time he practices muay thai, plays football and all that. He is an arguably overly committed football fan.
