Mitch Johnson

Mitch Johnson is an exciting talent in children's fiction. His debut novel Kick (Usborne) won the Branford Boase Award 2018 and several regional awards, including the Mal Peet Children's Award.

Toxic (Hachette) is Mitch's new heart-stopping middle grade adventure addressing themes of deforestation and wildlife habitat destruction. Billionaire beauty mogul Anura Hegarty has pledged to acquire as much of the rainforest as possible to preserve it. But when loggers arrive with an armed escort, Jessica and her friend Renata realise something much more sinister is going on. Danger and betrayal lurk around every corner, and soon they're running for their lives, dodging blow darts, poachers, and giant snakes. Will the children make it out alive?

As well as writing, Mitch works as a Waterstones bookseller in Norwich, where he lives with his wife and baby daughter. He graduated from the University of East Anglia with a first class degree in English Literature with Creative Writing.
