Anthony Levi (1929-2004) was a cultural historian and former Buchanan Professor of French Language and Literature at the University of St. Andrews. He was the author of Cardinal Richelieu and the Making of France, Louis XIV (Carroll & Graf, 2004), and Erasmus: An Intellectual Life (Yale University Press, 2016).
