Adèle Geras

Adèle Geras was born in Jerusalem in 1944. She read Modern Languages (French and Spanish) at St Hilda’s College, Oxford and since 1976 has published more than 100 books for readers of all ages.

Her most recent novel, Dangerous Women, is written under the pseudonym Hope Adams. Her YA novel Troy was shortlisted for the Whitbread Award in 2000 and Highly Commended for the Carnegie Medal in the same year. She moved to Cambridge in 2013 after living in Manchester for 43 years. She still plays for the team representing The North in Round Britain Quiz on BBC Radio 4 alongside Stuart Maconie. She has two daughters and four grandchildren. She is a Fellow of the RSL.
