Emma Dabiri is an academic, writer and broadcaster. She is a teaching fellow in the Africa Department at SOAS and is currently completing her PhD in the Sociology Department at Goldsmiths College, where her research explores experience, memory, haunting and embodiment in the construction of African-descent subjectivities. In addition to being published in various academic books and journals, her writing has appeared in The Guardian, Grazia, i-D Magazine, The Telegraph, The Irish Times, and The New Statesman amongst others. As a cultural commentator and presenter she regularly appears on television and radio, including Newsnight, Woman’s Hour, Late Night Woman’s Hour, and BBC’s The One Show. Her first book, Don’t Touch My Hair, will be published by Allen Lane in 2019.
