Cyril Connolly

Cyril Connolly (1903 - 1974) was a leading literary and intellectual figure of the inter-war and post-war periods. He was the editor of Horizon from 1940 to 1950, and translated several important works of European literature into English, including The Ubu Plays by Alfred Jarry and The Silence of the Seas by Vercors. He often wrote under the pseudonym Palinurus, and his published works include The Unquiet Grave, The Condemned Playground and Previous Convictions.
