Constantine Cavafy

Constantine P. Cavafy (1863 - 1933) was born in Alexandria, Egypt to Greek parents. He was a poet, journalist, and civil servant with a consciously individual style that earned him a place among the most important figures in Western poetry.

Cavafy wrote 154 poems, while dozens more remained incomplete or in sketch form at his death.
