Caroline Brothers was born in Australia. She has a PhD in history from University College London and has worked as a foreign correspondent in Europe and Latin America. She currently lives in Paris where she writes for the International Herald Tribune and the New York Times. She has published one book, War and Photography, and also writes short stories. Her first novel, Hinterland was published in 2011.
Her second novel, The Memory Stones, was published in 2016 by Bloomsbury. It is a BBC Radio2 Book Club Selection, has been featured on Better Reading Australia’s Book of the Week, and was longlisted for The Guardian’s Not the Man Booker Prize 2016.
