Niktaa Amirkhalili

Nik is part of the RCW International team, and she works closely with Laurence Laluyaux across her list. Before joining RCW in January 2022, Nik interned at Profile Books and was also the inaugural Felicity Bryan Mentorship Scheme recipient at Felicity Bryan Associates. She holds a BA in English Literature and Film from Lancaster University and an MA in Linguistics from SOAS. She speaks several languages including Persian, Mandarin and some Korean, and loves to improve her language skills by immersing herself in international films and TV.

Nik is open to queries from writers working in all languages and from translators working from any languages into English. She enjoys literary and upmarket fiction with genre elements or a speculative twist and is looking for books that pull from different literary traditions to produce something new and exciting. 

She is particularly drawn to queer narratives and stories that delve into the depths of what it means to be human or 'other'. She has a soft spot for all kinds of animals and creatures, from the realistic to the mythic, and is always interested in books that highlight different cultures, traditions, languages and settings. She is also open to considering non-fiction.
