David Runciman is Professor of Politics at Cambridge University and the author of many books about politics, including The Politics of Good Intentions, Political Hypocrisy, The Confidence Trap and Politics: Ideas in Profile. He writes regularly about politics and current affairs for a wide range of publications including the London Review of Books. He hosts the podcast Talking Politics. In 2007 he was short-listed for the David Watt prize for outstanding contribution to political journalism. His most recent book, How Democracy Ends, was published in 2019.
