Jonathan Powell

Jonathan Powell is a British diplomat who served as Chief of Staff to Labour Prime Minister Tony Blair from 1997 to 2007. During this period, he was also chief British negotiator in Northern Ireland and a key part to play in the formation of the Good Friday Agreement. An expert in conflict resolution, he has also played a major role as a mediator in the negotiations between FARC and the Columbian government.

Jonathan is the author of two books of non-fiction: The New Machievelli: How to Wield Power in the Modern World; and Talking to Terrorists, both with Vintage.
