Brian McGilloway

Brian McGilloway was born in Derry, Northern Ireland in 1974.His debut novel, Borderlands, published by Macmillan New Writing, was short listed for the Crime Writers’ Association New Blood Dagger 2007. Marcel Berlins selected it as a Best Summer Read in The Times, describing it as “a tight, exquisitely written, atmospheric account of claustrophobic life on the border… Devlin is a compelling investigator.” Waterstones also selected Borderlands as their Irish Book of the Month. It will be available in Pan paperback in April 2008 alongside the hardback of the second Inspector Devlin novel, Gallows Lane. Pan Macmillan recently committed to a further three books in the Devlin series. Brian is also contributing short stories to a Blackstaff Anthology of Northern Irish Crime Fiction and BBC Radio 4’s The Big Chill and reviews for the TLS. In addition to writing, he teaches English in St Columb’s College, Derry. He lives near the Borderlands with his wife and their two sons.
