Kate Lebo

Kate Lebo is the author of two cookbooks, Pie School (Sasquatch Books) and A Commonplace Book of Pie (Chin Music Press). Her essay ‘The Loudproof Room’ appeared in New England Review and was selected for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s The Best American Essays 2015. Other essays and poems have appeared in Best New Poets, Willow Springs, AGNI, Hobart, Ninth Letter, and Gastronomica, and she writes the ‘Cooking the Books’ column for the Spokesman-Review. She holds an MFA in poetry from the University of Washington, where she was awarded a Nelson Bentley Fellowship and a Joan Grayston Poetry Prize. She’s the recipient of grants from Artist Trust and 4Culture, plus residencies from the Vermont Studio Center and Soapstone. She lives in Spokane, Washington. The Book of Difficult Fruit will be published by FSG and Picador in 2019.
