Stephanie Bishop’s first novel was The Singing, for which she was named one of the Sydney Morning Herald’s Best Young Australian Novelists. The Singing was also highly commended for the Kathleen Mitchell Award. Her second novel, The Other Side of the World, is published by Hachette Australia, Tinder Press (UK), and Atria (US/Canada). It was named Literary Fiction Book of the Year at the 2016 Australian Book Industry Awards and won The Readings Prize for New Australian Fiction 2015. The novel was also shortlisted for the Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards 2016 and The Indie Book Awards 2016, and longlisted for The Stella Prize 2016. Her new novel, Man Out of Time, will be published by Hachette Australia in 2018.
Stephanie’s essays and reviews have appeared in the Times Literary Supplement, the Australian, the Sydney Review Of Books, the Australian Book Review and the Sydney Morning Herald. She holds a PhD from Cambridge and is a lecturer in creative writing at the University of New South Wales.
