Philip Sington was born in Cambridge, UK in 1962, the son of a British intelligence officer and an industrial chemist. He read history at Trinity College, Cambridge and worked as a journalist and magazine editor for nine years. He co-authored six thrillers under the joint pseudonym of Patrick Lynch, selling over a million copies worldwide. The third, Carriers, was adapted for the screen in 1998. He also co-wrote on the stage play Lip Service, which premiered at the Finborough Theatre, London in 2000. His first solo novel, Zoia's Gold, was published by Atlantic Books (UK) in 2005 and by Scribner (US) in 2006. His work has been translated into a total of eighteen foreign languages. He lives in London.
